Some people simply weren't meant to stay indoors. For them, the call of adventure is too strong to ignore.
Evan Jordan is one of those people. Jordan is a young rock-climbing and photography enthusiast from California. Like many young adventurers, the great outdoors is his second home, and he tries to take advantage of it as often as he can.
In order to accommodate his adventurous lifestyle, Jordan had to come up with a way to travel in an efficient and comfortable way. Instead of spending lots of money on hotels or roughing it without basic supplies, he came up with an idea.
After searching on Craigslist, he found the perfect solution in the form of a big old yellow van. He decided to give the van some much-needed updates and modifications to suit his traveling needs.

Evan Jordan purchased this 2006 Ford E250 off of Craigslist.
After ripping out the interior, he was able to get started on his adventuremobile.
The interior was in rough shape.
He began by addressing the holes in the floor and getting rid of the surface rust.
After stripping away the mess, he primed and painted the floor.
After that, he glued down runners for the floor with Liquid Nails.
Insulation was placed between the runners and then the flooring was placed over top.
Since Jordan is planning on spending his evenings camped out in his adventuremobile, plenty of insulation was necessary.
After a few trips to Home Depot, the window wells were airtight!
Next, Jordan picked up this white high top and installed it on top of the van for additional storage space.
The added height also allows him to stand up straight in the van!
He cut some Lonseal thunderstorm flooring to size. It's flexible, but heavy duty — perfect for adventuring!
After that, he began to build out the bed frame.
The back door panels were also covered with luan plywood.
Next, he focused on the electrical system.
These batteries are meant to power a microwave and blender without any trouble.
After installing solar panels to the top of the van, he added a ceiling fan for proper airflow, and wiring for efficient LED lighting.
Next up was the kitchen area.
Using repurposed kitchen cabinets, free off of Craigslist, he hacked up the particle board into the shape he wanted.
Propane lines feed into the stove, and the van also features a mini fridge and freezer!
He installed a memory foam mattress on the bed frame.
The entire mechanism folds up for added storage space!
After adding a few finishing touches, like speakers and popsicles for the freezer, this adventurer is ready to go!
