When Instructables user xraywinedrinker's patio needed a new outdoor sink, the crafty DIY-er decided to upcycle an old wine barrel for the job.
She began her project by cutting an opening in her wine barrel's side, enabling her to easily rig up its inner plumbing.
To make sure the upper and lower parts of each cut panel stayed with the barrel, this builder affixed each panel to the barrel's metal rings for added support.
This crafter saved each of the panels she cut loose and fashioned them into a little door, perfect for hiding away her new sink's inner workings.
Next, this builder assembled her new outdoor sink's plumbing.
Then, to make a proper-size opening for the copper sink, she turned it upside down, and traced its outline on the barrel's top.
With her road map set, she sawed the sink's opening out, and positioned the copper piece in place along with the faucet.
Finally, with the sink's plumbing and basin in place, this crafter cleaned the barrel's outer metal rings, ridding them of years of old dirt and grime.
She primed and painted each metal ring, then stained the barrel's wooden exterior.
With the sink pedestal's door hinged in place, this gorgeous outdoor beauty was ready to work its magic.
With a bit of upcycling ingenuity, this DIY-er built herself a beautifully unique outdoor sink, perfectly suited to her backyard's décor.
