Actress, activist and ink enthusiast Angelina Jolie has proudly displayed her tattoos since the days when they read "Billy Bob." Though her former husband's name has been lasered clean off, her current tattoos still reflect her family. The new Mrs. Brad Pitt wears the latitudes and longitudes where her husband and six children were born on her left arm.
Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is all about shock factor, but (shockingly) only has one tattoo to date. The "Anaconda" rapper got her first — and only — tattoo when she was just 16: Chinese symbols that roughly translate to "God is always with me."
Britney Spears
Just like Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears has a Chinese symbol tattoo. But unlike Nicki Minaj, Britney's tattoo artist didn't use spell check. The pop megastar meant for her lower hip ink to read "mysterious," but it actually translates to "strange." Oops!
Hayden Panettiere
Another celeb who got an erroneous tattoo is Nashville's Hayden Panettiere! Though she meant to have "live without regrets" tattooed in Italian on her back, the actual tattoo, "Vivere senza rimpianti” means… well, nothing, because the last word should be spelled “rimipianti." Alas, an eraser wouldn't do for this typo: Hayden underwent laser tattoo removal to correct her translation error.
Adam Levine
Some of Adam Levine's tattoos are pretty self explanatory (such as his huge Los Angeles tattoo — a shout out to his home town). Others, however, have more of a backstory. The "222" on the sexy frontman's forearm was the name of the studio where Maroon 5 recorded their first demo tape. Talk about a lucky number!
Rihanna
Pop star Rihanna is a huge tattoo enthusiast, and sports ink all over her body. One of her more hidden tattoos, an Arabic phrase on her ribcage, reads, "Al Hurria fi Al Maseeh." The subtle tattoo translates to "Freedom in God."
Justin Bieber
When he's not drag racing, Instagramming, egging his neighbors home, or — oh right — recording music, Justin Bieber can be found frequenting the tattoo parlor. The musician, who once talked of opening a tattoo shop with his dad, sports an ever-growing collection of body art. One of his several religious tattoos is an X on his left arm, which is the symbol for "Christ" in Greek.
David Beckham
If a couple's first anniversary is paper, is their sixth ink? David and Victoria Beckham seem to think so, as the soccer player and former Spice Girl got matching tattoos that translate to "I am my love's and my love is mine" in Sanskrit to commemorate the occasion. Victoria's is down her back, while David's is on his left forearm.
Pink
Price check on Pink's neck, please! The rocker sports a bar code tattoo accompanied by the numbers 1 9879-11200-1 3 on the back of her neck. Sandwiched in between the digits in her lucky number, 13, are her birthdate (9/8/79) and the release date of her sophomore album "Missundaztood" (11/20/01).
Katy Perry
Pop star Katy Perry may stand out on stage, but she's all about chilling out in her personal life. In 2010, Katy and then-fiance Russell Brand got matching tattoos in Sanskrit that translate to "go with the flow." Though she's flowing far away from Russell these days, Katy's tattoo still remains in tact.
