Watch 100 Years Of Fitness In 100 Seconds! There’s No Escaping That ’80s Spandex!

There’s no hiding from the style ghosts of trends long since discarded by popular culture…particularly the ’80s, but at least we can all laugh about them in hindsight!

In the video below, a woman works her way through 100 years of fitness trends in 100 seconds — and there are certainly some gems in there. If nothing else, it’ll certainly make you realize how silly some of our fitness fads have been. We’ll do anything for a solid workout!

Remember that insane trend not too long back that consisted of strapping springs onto your feet and hopping around like a kangaroo? For those of us who are less than coordinated, this makes for an accident waiting to happen. (But hey, if that’s your thing, more power to you!)

Or check out this wild workout from the ’40s that was primarily reliant on strange machines that rolled up and down women’s bodies, smoothing out any “bulges” in what appears to be an incredibly uncomfortable stationary routine. No thanks!

But the below video will definitely give you a look at the crazy things we do to keep our bodies healthy. And the aughts are not without their share of ridiculous trends, as well!
