Here at LittleThings we’ve seen some pretty impressive restorations.
These have included (but are by no means limited to) classic Airstreams, school buses, and even a log cabin that rivals Abraham Lincoln’s childhood abode. What makes each of these classic renewals so special is that a talented individual stumbled upon these neglected relics, saw their potential, and gave them a second chance at their prior glory.
Yet the most impressive refurbishment we’ve seen lately is one of the tiny house variety, or to be more specific, of the tiny cabin variety.
This tiny cabin from the 1830s was found and lovingly revived by Reddit user srirachaforeverthing’s father, a retired mathematician, who needed something to keep his sharp mind stimulated. Yet, this restoration wasn’t as easy as pi — it took him 10 years to solve this problem. However, if you take a person with skill and add passion, the sum will definitely have an X-factor, which this house has — times a billion!
This is the original structure. Most of it was rotting.

So he labeled all the pieces and brought as much of it as possible to his family's property.

Unfortunately, he was only able to use a handful of logs because so many of them were rotting, and the others needed a lot of help.

The restoration process began by ensuring the cabin had a new and sturdy frame.

The process was slow but steady, and as you can see, a lot of love and work went into revamping this relic.

A fireplace was added to keep the home warm on cold winter nights.

High windows also let plenty of light pour into the small but cozy cabin.

The end result of the interior is rustic and comfy. It’s the perfect pastoral escape.

The fireplace is ideal for cooking or snuggling up to with a great book.

Upstairs is a snug loft that’s just big enough for a full bed.

The cabin also boasts a beautiful deck.

The end result is a gorgeous, classic cabin.

And to think that decaying building was refurbished into this breathtaking beauty!
