2CELLOS Plays ‘Thunderstruck,’ And It’s Even Better Than The Original

In my book, there's no cooler instrument than the cello. From the deepest, richest tone of the open C string, all the way to the bright notes way at the tippy top of the fingerboard on the A, it's truly an incredible instrument. That is, if it's in the right hands.

Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser of 2CELLOS are two highly accomplished classical cellists. They're both from Croatia, but while Šulić studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Hauser went to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. After they graduated in 2011, they decided that it would be a good idea to make music together… and I am SO glad that they did!

Both of these guys are so incredibly talented with their instruments, and they leave nothing behind when they play onstage. You can clearly see that their whole hearts and souls are in it for every single note.

While these two are incredibly disciplined classical musicians, they're not exactly known for their impeccable renditions of Debussy or Fauré. The performances that millions of viewers have latched onto are the ones where they bring rock and pop into their repertoire. Don't think a cello can shred on an AC/DC song?

Then you have clearly not seen these two perform together. Just wait til 1:41. And then 4:25? I can't even handle it, and neither can the horsehairs on their bows.
