It's hard to fathom that the world is divided by such arbitrary things like how much money someone makes, what they look like, or even what they believe in.
When I look at the innocence and beauty of children, that notion becomes all the more pertinent.
Could you imagine having to sit a child down and explain to them that people don't like them because of who they are?
Yet so many parents have to do just that every day. How do you offer solace to Breanna Mendoza, who was bullied for having Goldenhar syndrome, or Min Anh, who is bullied for how his skin appears?
The odd thing of it all is that all of us are different. None of us, not any two of us, are alike. Even twins have different experiences, personalities, and eventually, separate lives.
Yet so much of the war and oppression that exists is because people demand the impossible, they demand that we be the same.
When you watch this beautiful video of five children praying in five different countries, maybe you'll understand what I mean.
All children are special, all children need love, and they all could use a little more empathy.
SHARE this video if it made you think a little bit more about people who are different from you.
