50 Cent Reveals His Secrets For The Best Elevator Pitch

Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, has the ultimate rags to riches story. The rapper went from living in a rough neighborhood in Queens, NY — where he was once famously shot nine times — to becoming a multimillionaire.

Let's not forget that Forbes named him one of the five wealthiest hip-hop artists with a net worth of $155 million. That's all thanks to his record sales, a clothing line, and various business collaborations, primarily his involvement with Vitaminwater.

Yet, 50 Cent’s success is hardly just by luck.

During an interview with Entrepreneur magazine, the mogul explained what intrigues him most when considering a business venture to collaborate with.

“I just like to hear… how a specific consumer would relate to it. Why someone would want to utilize the product or why it would work,” he said.

As for the rapper’s biggest no-no: “A lot of times you have people that have ideas that they haven’t quite figured out who they are going to sell it to… That doesn’t work for me. For me, everything that I’ve involved myself with, there’s a targeted audience.”

At the :55 mark, 50 cent also offered one more informative point that other entrepreneurs should probably pay attention to.
