Photo Of A Couple Together 60 Years Goes Viral After Hospital Puts Them In The Same Room

I'm at a place in my life where if I'm dating someone for longer than 7 months, that's considered pretty successful. My parents, who just celebrated their 30th anniversary, are a true inspiration to me. They're a sign to me of true love and affection.

And couple who have been together 40 years? 50? Over 60? They truly deserve some kind of recognition. Marriages that last that long are the result of true love, hard work, and a lot of sacrifice.

Tom and Arnisteen Clark of Fayetteville, GA have been together over 68 years. They were separated from each other only once, when Tom served in the Korean War.

Recently, they were both admitted to the orthopedic surgery floor of the same hospital, but the hospital regulations saw that they were placed in two separate rooms. ABC News reports that the division was very hard for them. Charlsie Niemiec, the social media specialist of the hospital, tells ABC,  “Because they were on the orthopedic surgical floor, none of those rooms have double occupancy so they couldn’t be together, and it was clearly breaking their hearts.”

The hospital decided this loving couple deserved to be together. What they did has quickly gone viral. Have you seen it yet?

"Fayetteville residents Tom and Arnisteen Clark have been married for 68 years. The only time they have been apart during their marriage is when Tom, an Army veteran, was stationed in Korea. This made their stay in different rooms in the hospital very difficult for them, so Tina Mann, Manager, Orthopedics Medical-Surgical 4, with help from the clinical staff, went above and beyond to make a special arrangement for Tom, 96, to visit his wife, in her room. Overcome with joy, he wept as he described the deep love he has for Arnisteen, 92. “I just can’t be away from her, she’s the finest woman in the world.” Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for the Clarks and many more happy years together."

Hundreds have commented on the photo, wishing the lovely couple better health and many years of love.

Naturally, the hospital requested permission from the couple before posting the photo. If I had a marriage that loving and strong, I'd say yes too. What a gift for them to share with the world.
