In 81 years, Marilyn Vleck has experienced a lot in her life, but there was one life-long dream she never thought she'd be able to fulfill. Since she was a little girl, Vleck had wanted to be a Girl Scout, but her family couldn't afford to pay the fee.
Decades later, her sister decided to surprise her with a used Girl Scout uniform, but the organization decided to take her wish one step further. They wanted to fulfill her birthday wish and inducted her into the Girl Scouts.
So on her 81st birthday, Vleck was accepted as a Girl Scout "Daisy," receiving her cap and vest and earning her petals.
"I'm proud to be one. I mean, who gets to be 81 and gets to be a Girl Scout," Vleck told Live 5 News. "Anything's possible."
Vleck is proof that you should never give up on your dreams — no matter how old you are.
