The only thing worse than being “that person” who accidentally forgot to turn off their cell phone is being “that person” who’s interrupted by it. If I was on stage, I’m not sure how I would have handled this, but it probably wouldn’t have ended in cheers. Ok, I’ll tell the truth: I would have been flustered and started crying.
