This Reddit user posted these incredible images of his family's old shoe store.
He writes that the store was in business from the 1940's until the 1960's.
His great-grandmother ran the business for as long as she was able.
Sadly, she took ill and the family business was forced to close.
Once the family closed shop, the shoe store sat untouched for over 40 years.
Now, all these years later, this great grandmother's descendants have unlocked the doors to explore a piece of preserved history.
Boxes of shoes line the walls and piles of shoes lay covered in decades of dust.
But inside the boxes? Vintage shoes remain preserved from over 40 years earlier!
Each box contains a glimpse into the past.
There is an amazing variety of shoes that have been sitting untouched.
While some of the shoes appear straight out of the 1960's, others look like they could be found in a shoe store today.
You can see the style of the time in many of the pairs. As the 1960s gave way to the 1970s, the style of shoes introduced dressier flats into fashion.
And saddle shoes became extremely popular, with cool colors and patterns coming into style as well.
Even the furniture gives a glimpse into the time period, like this vintage double-sided bench for customers to sit on.
And this dusty old trunk certainly adds to the mystery of the abandoned store.
Inside, personal items sit exactly as they did when this great grandmother was running things.
One of the most exciting finds has to be this ordinary-looking cabinet.
Inside? A beautiful, old Victrola!
The front doors even open to reveal record shelves within.
With its vintage shoes, mystery trunk, and gorgeous Victrola, this stunning abandoned shoe store offers an amazing look into the past.
