Adele Is Brought To Tears During Her Performance Of ‘Someone Like You’

Usually it's the singer who leaves the audience speechless, but in the video below, the opposite is equally true.

British vocal sensation Adele recorded Live At The Royal Albert Hall on September 22, 2011 at the height of her shot to stardom. The entire concert earned her rave reviews, but the highlight for so many was when she belted out her chart-topping ballad, "Someone Like You." She wrote the song about her own experience coming to terms with a broken relationship, something with which most people can relate. Though she'd sang it a thousand times before, the lyrics took hold over everyone in the room — including Adele.

At 2:45, Adele asks the crowd to take over, and this is the moment her song becomes its own entity — something greater than herself. The magical sound of the audience singing her lyrics back to her in perfect unison makes Adele break down in tears.

In July 2011, "Someone Like You" became the first single of the decade to sell a million units in the UK, as well as being certified five-times platinum in the United States.
