She Gave These Abandoned Babies Fruit. Watch Their Reactions… I Can’t Stop Smiling!

Get ready for your daily does of cute!

These tiny baby opossums were rescued from the wild, and part of their rehabilitation includes a nice fruit snack! As they eat with their tiny little hands, they're just so cute! I'll be the first to admit that adult opossums aren't the cutest things around — but as babies, they're so cuddly!

The babies were found without a mother when they were brought to the wildlife rehabilitation center in Pennsylvania. At the wildlife center, workers are caring and weaning the opossums. When the babies are about 20-22 weeks old, they'll be released back into the wild.

According to statistics, most opossum babies end up orphaned — like this baby bunny — because their mother was hit by a car. (Their only real instinctual defense is to play dead.)

Remember, if you ever find orphaned possums (or find one hit by a car), you should contact a licensed animal rehabilitator, veterinarian, or animal control for assistance. Accidents happen, but it is important to take a minute and make sure that there are no babies on the animal because they can often survive within the mother's pouch.
