Pregnant Woman Is Moved To Tears When Police Officer Pays For Her Gas

The last thing any mother or father wants is to struggle to take care of their family. Yet, so many Americans are left unemployed or underemployed as the country still grapples with the economic downturn of 2008. There are plenty of folks able and willing to work, but it seems there aren't enough jobs to go around.

Alex Davis is 26 weeks pregnant. She and her fiancée are living paycheck-to-paycheck as they struggle to find better work.

Things seemed bleak and it's in those bleak times that we're most touched by other's kindness.

While waiting to pay for gas, Davis was on the phone with fiancée. She said to him, "Well I was scraping for money in my car so I could put some more gas into it. I need gas to get home tonight."

But it was who overheard her that left Davis in tears. Before she even realized it, the police officer in front of her had paid for her gas.

Some police officers just have a keen perception; this one noticed something off about a semi-truck and ended up saving a driver's life.

Davis was moved to tears by this cop's gesture and wrote a wonderful letter to the officer who chose to remain anonymous.

The Forsyth Police Department, where he works, reports that the cop said, "She just seemed like she needed some help. It was the right thing to do."

"My fiancee and I are living paycheck to paycheck as I am 26 weeks pregnant, and he is looking for a better job. I was supposed to pay my mom back $100, but she told me to save it for when I’m on maternity leave for 6 weeks. I planned on not touching it unless absolutely necessary…

As I went inside Chevron and was standing in line waiting to pay for my gas, my fiancee calls me. He asked where I was at, and I simply said, ‘Well I was scraping for money in my car so I could put some more gas into it. I need gas to get home tonight.'

There was a cop (I believe Forsyth County) standing in front of me. I was talking away on the phone and didn’t even realize what was happening. The cop that was in front of me must have heard my conversation, and he paid for my gas!!!! As I ran out the store to thank him, he had already hopped in his truck and didn’t even look back!

I know this seems like not a big deal for a cop just paying for my gas, but this brought tears to my eyes…He has blessed my family today, and I am going to pay it forward tomorrow with the $10 I was going to put in my car.

I apologize for the long message but I would be truly grateful if y’all would share this with the public. Not only to find this man to thank him for his selfless act, but to show that the Forsyth County PD are the most caring and humble department out there. We are very lucky to have an amazing staff that genuinely cares about the safety of our community.

Have a blessed day.”

"This one will warm your hearts…

After some brief investigating.. we tracked down our deputy who this message is about. He was reluctant to admit he was the deputy from this incident, so we will allow him to stay anonymous.

He said, ‘She just seemed like she needed some help. It was the right thing to do.’

We are proud to work alongside men and women like this deputy.”
