A very brave dad helped to save the life of an animal trainer at a child's birthday party. The entire incident, which took place at Scales and Tails in Salt Lake City, was captured in a shocking video.
During a 5-year-old's birthday party, trainer Lindsay Bull was feeding a male alligator when he bit down on her hand. Lindsay had to climb into the water to get better control, but that's when the animal whipped her around, pulling her underwater.
As the children were ushered away, one brave dad, Donnie Wiseman, stepped up and actually threw himself into the water. He was able to get onto the alligator's back and help Lindsay escape.
Lindsay told KSL that she noticed Darth Gator was being aggressive before the feeding. Luckily, only her hand was injured in the incident! If Donnie hadn't been so brave, that may not have been the case.
Scales and Tails owner Shane Richins said: "I hope no one thinks it's a good idea to just run out and hop on a gator because they saw it, but they probably saved her arm and possibly her life by running in and stabilizing him so he couldn't keep rolling on her, and then they just held him still until he relaxed and let her go.
"We never expect someone to jump in like that, but we're super grateful they did."
