Couple Fixes Their Marriage By Putting Up A Wall In Their Home To Divide Living Space

Allison Paschke and John Danskin had been married for years, but eventually their relationship began to deteriorate.

The couple found themselves bickering over small things and they began to resent each other. However, they didn't want to get a divorce; instead, they wanted to come to some sort of solution.

In 2006, they sold their three-story house and bought a loft space in Providence, RI. The solution to their marital problems? Putting up a wall and dividing the home into a half for each of them.

This way, they could each have their space and alone time, but could also still feel connected and close to one another.

They still eat dinner and sleep in the same bed together every night, but by day, they lead entirely separate lives.

Sometimes marriage thrives in the unconventional; another couple felt happiest while living in a tiny home!

The couple says it's the best their marriage has ever been and that they feel giddy like kids again.

“It’s like being teenagers but without all the horribleness of being teenagers. We’re more secure and we know what to do,” says Mr. Danskin.
