On a sheep farm in England, a group of alpacas have made it their mission to keep the lambs out of harm's way.
The four alpacas — Storm, Cloud, Nimbus, and Cirrus — do all they can to keep the nearby foxes far from the sheep and their lambs. The foxes usually come around in hopes of getting some food for their young. Since the newborn lambs haven't learned how to protect themselves yet, they are an ideal target for these predators.
Thankfully, these alpacas have been successful in keeping a close watch on the fellow farm animals. Much like the labrador who took a baby tiger under her wing, it's almost unbelievable to see such protection from one species to another.
"His job here is to look after the sheep and the lambs and he takes that quite seriously," a farm worker told BBC South Today about one of the alpacas. "He's the first one to see which of the lambs are newborn and give them a helping hand if he thinks it's necessary."
And as you'll see in the clip below, the alpacas and the lambs have a very loving relationship — just watch what one of the alpacas does around the :58 mark!
