Mom Asks Toddler To Pick Just 1 Toy But Stranger Who Lost A Grandson Hands Him $20 To Buy All 3

You really never know when you'll run into a stranger that'll turn your whole day around.

You also never know what's going on in the lives of the people around you. It may feel as if your world is caving in with errands and anxieties, while your next-door neighbor is going through a tragedy too. Sometimes you just need a little perspective to see that you're not alone.

When Alyssa Hacker went shopping at Target with her son, Owen, one day, she had one of those experiences that sizes everything up in relation to the greater scheme of things.

When a total stranger walked up to her and her young son, she felt as most of us probably would: a little apprehensive. We live in a world where stranger equals danger. In this case, though, Alyssa didn't rush off.

The experience she had as a result is truly heartwarming. See what she shared below!

Alyssa was shopping with her son at Target one day when she had an unexpected encounter with a total stranger. After the whole experience, she had to share the story with her friends on Facebook. Along with the photo directly below, she wrote the following words.

This momma just cried in the middle of Target. We were at target waiting on Grammi and we found some dinosaurs.

Owen grabbed all 3 and we were trying to pick out which one he wanted when Owen abruptly yelled, “Hi” at this older man walking past us. He turned around and said, “hey sweet boy.” He proceeded to play dinosaurs with Owen and with this crazy world we live in I was a little hesitant as too how close he was with Owen.

The man got his wallet and pulled out a $20. He put it in Owens pocket on his shirt and said, “I just lost my 2-year-old grandson last week. You take this money and buy this boy all three dinosaurs,” rubbed Owen’s back, wiped his tears, and walked off.

After Owen yelled, “thank you,” the gentleman turned around and yelled, “boomer sooner!” There is still some good in this world!

The comments on her post show just how much this little interaction resonated with people. We've all experienced loss at some capacity. This man's pain translated into kindness toward this family and it hit everyone right in the heart.

When LittleThings asked Alyssa if Owen is enjoying his three new dinos, she said, "Yes! It's a little tough to take them all when we go places, but he has taken at least one everywhere."

What a beautiful reminder that there are still good people in this world, and that we should all always be careful with those around us. You never know who may be going through something painful.
