When I was a kid, I was obsessed with The Borrowers. I loved the idea of tiny furniture and teeny books and itsy-bitsy silverware. I would pretend that somewhere within the baseboards of our home was a little family secretly scampering underfoot and squirreling away our lost possessions. I would even rummage through my mom's box of antique miniatures and leave certain objects out every night, hoping that our pint-sized family would make use of them. (They never did, of course, much to my dismay.)
As I grew up, this fascination with all things tiny evolved into — no surprise — an appreciation for dollhouses. In my recent online exploration, I stumbled across an exceptionally talented artist whose eye for detail and boundless imagination astounded me. From the contents of a trash can to a greeting card on the mantel, Amy Gross neglects no details.
Do you have any special memories of dollhouses? I always wanted one growing up, but since I'm a little too old now, I'll just enjoy them through my computer screen.

Here is Amy's beautiful dollhouse. "[It's] been a joy to work on," she told us.

"[It's] semi-biographical, a combination of wish-fulfillment, family photos, favorite books, art, artists, food."

The lovely front door. See the FedEx envelope beneath the little doormat?

"I've been obsessed with dollhouses and miniatures since I was very small," said Amy.

It gets cuter…
The realism of this bookshelf is amazing! See the book spines?

To make these picture frames, Amy used buttons! And her wallpaper? Scrapbook paper.

That afternoon light spilling in looks so real...

The detail in this kitchen is incredible! On this shot, Amy remarked, "Dishes in the sink, empty cups. Dollhouse kitchen mirrors reality."

I don't even know how she made this next one!
A to-do list, an empty Starbucks cup, a little sponge, and a bar of soap! Adorable!

Right down to the labels in the pantry, Amy hasn't missed a detail!

The pad of butter, the tin foil over the yogurt, the little Cheerios — it's all too cute!

Here's the adorable bathroom. I love the toothpaste box and tissues in the garbage can!

Wish I had a bedroom like this…
Such a cozy little house. Wouldn't you love to live here?

Now we're upstairs in the bedroom. Here, Amy has handcrafted this beautiful bed! And that painting on the wall is actually a miniature of her own work!

This cozy office space features a photo of Amy's mom. Can you spot it?

Here you can see more incredible detail: a checkbook, a bill, and a letter that's even addressed and stamped.

The outside pictures are incredible!
This is Amy's other dollhouse — or dollbarn, rather.

The top half of the barn is modeled after Amy's real-life art studio and features miniature versions of her real-sized artwork, and the tools and supplies she uses to make them.

The bottom half is called Norma's Cafe, named for Amy's mom.

"I run many of the food and coffee choices past her, since I wouldn't really ever trust myself to run a food-based business in the real world," said Amy.

It gets even cuter?
Doesn't it look so yummy?

I'd just love to sip some warm coffee here.

I really admire all the love and attention Amy pours into her work! It's amazing!

So cute!
