‘American Idol’ Executive & Husband Found Brutally Murdered In $4.5M LA Home

Award-winning American Idol executive Robin Kaye was found murdered in her $4.5 million Los Angeles mansion alongside her husband, Thomas Deluca. Officers found the bodies of Kaye and Deluca when they were performing a welfare check.

Authorities went to the Encino home on Monday, July 14, 2025, after friends and family had not heard from the couple in four days. Upon arriving at the residence, they spotted blood at the front entrance of the home. Inside the home, officers found the couple shot to death. Sources told TMZ the incident is being investigated as a double homicide.

According to the outlet, Kaye and Deluca were both shot in the head, but found in different rooms of the house. As of now, police don’t suspect a burglary and nobody is in custody. Authorities are reviewing security footage to find more information.

Just days earlier, on July 10, officers were called to the home when an unidentified person was seen hopping the fence onto the couple’s property. Police responded to the call and searched the property, but they didn’t find a suspect or evidence of forced entry.

Kaye had worked in the television industry for a long time — she was the music supervisor on American Idol for 15 seasons, for which she won numerous Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. She also worked on shows like Lip Sync Battle, Miss USA, Miss Universe, Hollywood Game Night, and more.
