‘American Idol’ Contestants Join Together To Sing “God Bless The USA”

One of our absolute favorite songs of all time is the legendary, "God Bless The U.S.A" by singer/songwriter Lee Greenwood. Surprisingly, the song was actually written and recorded back in 1983 and it even managed to reach the number 7 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart when it was finally released in 1984.

The song finally started gaining more prominence during the Gulf War, and was used as a good banner to help raise morale and push the troops onwards to defend America.

As the 1990s rolled on however, the song slowly slipped out of the public's mindset, eventually disappearing altogether, it seemed as if this song was done and over with. That is, until one of the darkest days in our nation's history occurred; September 11th, 2001.

The patriotic glory of American exceptionalism and freedom was once again on the rise in response to the terrorist attacks, and the song that seemed to ring true in everyone's hearts was none other than that love letter to the American dream, "God Bless the USA."

And as you watch Clay Aiken and the rest of the top 10 crew from the second season of American Idol, you'll see that, even though everyone comes from different backgrounds and beliefs, at the end of the day, we're all American. And when you see the looks on those five Marine's faces, you can easily see how touched they are as some of the best singers of the competition sing their hearts out in honor of our great country!

What a great patriotic song, and what a great little video! Make sure to watch it and we'll stand up right next to you, too!

And please SHARE this amazing video with your friends if you think America is the greatest country in the world!
