America's Got Talent is an incredibly popular show, but I don't think the audience has ever been more moved by a performance than this!
Seven-year-old Amir wants to be a rapper, and his mom thought that letting him explore his dream on America's Got Talent would be a good way to get him ready to perform on big stages. Before he goes on, Amir seems confident, and while he's rapping, he seems to be having fun, even though one of the judges — Howard — buzzed him pretty early on. Once he's finished performing, though, that's when things get a little rough for everyone.
On one hand, Howard has a point. He wants to be fair to everyone auditioning for the show, so if someone comes on who doesn't have as much talent as others (and admittedly, while Amir is adorable, his talent needs a few more years to mature), he doesn't want to vote them through just because they're young and cute. On another hand, telling a little boy that he's not that great is a difficult task for anyone, even a judge who has one of the crassest radio shows in America!
All-in-all, I think Howard handled himself and the situation with a lot of class, even if I was initially annoyed at him!
