Season after season, we watch incredible people grace the America's Got Talent stage. Some are funny, some are gifted, and as we learned on Tuesday, some are straight-up terrifying. A magician/illusionist who goes by the Sacred Riana appeared on the latest episode of AGT, and fans of the show were mesmerized by her creepy antics. There was just one problem: They didn't quite get to see it through.
See, there were a lot of technical difficulties on Tuesday's episode of AGT. Fans on Twitter had complaints about audio issues during several singers' performances. The backdrop behind a stand-up comedian's act flickered during his performance. Tyra Banks acknowledged some problems with the onstage doors. Even Simon Cowell's microphone stopped working. He offered up an explanation, linking right back to none other than the Sacred Riana: "I'm looking at who's coming up in the running order, and it's someone who's put a curse on the show, which is explaining all the stuff that's happening. This is ghostly what's happening at the moment."
Marie Antoinette Riana Graharani, or the Sacred Riana, competed on Asia's Got Talent last year.
Her creepy antics skyrocketed her to the top. She walked away the winner of season two of Asia's Got Talent.
The Sacred Riana decided to bring her talents to the US and compete on America's Got Talent.
She appeared on Tuesday and began her act. She walked up to the judges' table and produced a voodoo doll with Mel B's face.
Mel B appeared horrified as Riana's equally creepy minions approached from behind.
Everyone watched as Riana tried to scale the wall to escape the army of look-alike demons approaching.
A scream rang out, and the whole stage went black. That was it.
Fans were outraged. AGT voters weren't provided a number to vote or even much of an explanation for the abrupt ending.
They took to Twitter to share their fury at Riana's unfair ending. Rumors have circulated that the abrupt end was the intended effect, but fans still feel that they, and Riana, were cheated.
They didn't acknowledge the unusual ending on air. The YouTube video of the performance offered no explanation and had the same abrupt ending.
Unfortunately, the Sacred Riana didn't make it through.
Some thought that Simon's statement hinting that Riana had cursed the show and was the reason for all the technical difficulties gave other acts an unfair advantage over her.
Now fans are looking for vindication.
Fans are holding out hope that the Sacred Riana will be brought back in the wild card. We'll have to stay tuned to find out.
