The Unassuming Andreas Kümmert Stuns The Judges During His Blind Audition

In 2013, an unassuming singer took the stage at the blind auditions of "The Voice of Germany." At first, no one knew what to expect from the shaggy, bearded and tattooed singer. The music kicked into Elton John's hit song from 1972, "Rocket Man" — and he could barely finish the very first lyric before the judges were ready to turn around in the chairs. His voice is that good, and that unexpected.

His name is Andreas Kümmert, and he's a 30-year-old German singer and songwriter. His powerful, soulful voice sounds like it came straight outta the 70s, so it's no wonder that he chose different songs from classic American rock catalogue (think Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd) for each of his auditions throughout the competition. Here, the judges were so blown away that they danced out of their seats and up to the front of the stage, bowing down and cheering for their new favorite contestant.

And surprise, surprise… Andreas ended up cleaning up during the entire competition, and winning season three of "The Voice of Germany."
