If you've ever spent time in old diners, there are often many songs from the '70s and '80s playing on the radio. And should that be the case, chances are that you've heard many hits from artists all generations have grown to love, such as Neil Young and David Bowie.
But what really takes me back to my parents' generation is hearing the voice of Andy Gibb. What a classic, recognizable voice! It's always fun to sing along to his songs, trying the match pitch, although I never succeed.
One of my favorite songs of his, and the one I hear most often, is "I Just Want To Be Your Everything." It was his first single released outside Australia, and in 1977, it was a huge success. Can't you just imagine all the girls swooning when he sings?
In this clip, he performs live on Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special. And when I watched this, I found myself a little surprised by how much this performance appealed to me. His singing seems so effortless. And that outfit? Very hip, if you ask me.
Andy Gibb's career didn't continue past his 30th birthday because of his death, but he leaves us with some fantastic hits and performances to enjoy.
