The Florida startup Txt Shield LLC created a brilliant app that uses GPS signals and location-based mobile services to effectively block the texting feature of a phone while the owner is driving.
The app actually sends an auto-reply text that informs the sender that the driver is unavailable at the moment, and all activity will resume normally once the driver has come to a complete stop.
This app is great for any worried parents out there, or really anyone at all who finds themselves tempted to check their phone while behind the wheel.
Texting while driving is a huge problem that every driver should be aware of. Too many lives have been adversely affected by distracted driving, and it's about time that we're safe rather than sorry!
