Gone are the days when a French manicure or a design on the ring finger were considered ideal ways to spice up your nails. Nowadays, there are trends that make these common nail techniques seem pretty dull.
For example, there's nail art inspired by comic books that make the fingernails look cartoonish. And it's hard not to stare at 3D bubble nails, which accentuate the fingers in a very eccentric way.
Below is another eye-catching trend that's almost too hard to believe: the aquarium nails.
While the trend isn't exactly new, it became popular in recent times after a video of it went viral on Facebook. The Vietnamese TV show 2! Idol shared the clip showing the unique manicure and it's reached more than 25 million viewers.
It is a bit time consuming to achieve the aquarium nails look, but the end result is seriously unbelievable. They are almost like tiny snow globes!

Recently, a daring nail trend went viral after it was posted on Facebook by Vietnamese TV show 2! Idol.
It's dubbed the aquarium nails.
Trust me, this manicure is far different than anything you've seen before. It might look like a colorful nail, but it's far better.
Two acrylic nails are placed on top of each other in a way that liquid and sparkles can be squirted in between.
Then the small opening is closed with acrylic as shown in the photo below.
In turn, the sparkles and liquid move around similarly to a snow globe!
Pretty neat, right?!

Some opt to have only their ring finger with the aquarium theme.
But most apply it to every finger.
Here's a clear manicure allowing the sparkles to really pop. This one is totally aquatic, too.
While it seems most people prefer longer nails for this trend, some like to keep it shorter. But, it's certainly up to the individual's taste.
What's certain is that this trend really stands out no matter the size of the nails.
I mean, just look at the detail on these money nails.
And the more glitz, the better!
