Live On Air, Able-Bodied Woman Gives The Weather Report In A Wheelchair That Isn’t Hers

When CBS weatherwoman Chikage Windler showed up on family television sets all over Austin, TX, she probably shocked quite a few people who were a bit confused as to why she was sitting in a wheelchair.

At first, Windler didn't mention the wheelchair at all and pretended it was totally normal. This station's meteorologist has always stood upright on her own two feet whenever giving the report, but this time around there was no understandable reason she was sitting. Her legs didn't have casts on them, and she didn't seem injured in any way, so what the heck happened over the weekend?

It turns out that Windler was still totally able-bodied when she gave this particular weather report, but if you keep watching until the very end, it becomes clear that what she's doing is truly remarkable.

Known as "Archer's Challenge," this initiative began in 2015 when a young man in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy named Archer Hadley grew more and more frustrated by the lack of automatic doors in his high school. He helped raise money to purchase new doors by getting people who could walk to see for themselves just how difficult living in a wheelchair can be.

So to help spread awareness, this amazing weatherwoman sat down in a wheelchair and saw for herself just how difficult it actually is. Archer's Challenge is helping make people's lives easier, and we're so thankful that this amazing idea is spreading!

Please SHARE this amazing weather report if you hope your local weatherman or weatherwoman takes the Archer Challenge!
