During Black Friday weekend, a US Army veteran spotted a suspicious looking ‘ranger’ while shopping at the mall. Active soldiers receive discounts in many stores; if he could pass as a soldier, perhaps he'd be in for some bargains.
Instead of letting it slide in the spirit of the holidays, the vet totally called him out. The 'ranger' in question tried to answer, but he stuttered and was visibly nervous. The interrogation only grew worse.
Stolen Valor says, “A former Infantryman from Easy Co 2/506 101st sent us this video of him calling out a fake Ranger at a local mall. This guy couldn’t answer basic questions that he should’ve known, he was wearing a CIB with three stars and tried to say he got them all for Iraq and Afghanistan.. Not possible as you can only get one for both campaigns.”
Some people don’t agree with the method in which this phoney was “harassed.” At the same time, it's easy to see how frustrating and insulting this man's attempt to score discounts would be for someone who has become an actual soldier, putting his life on the line for our country.
