The funny thing about love is that you really never, ever know when it'll sneak up and surprise you…
When Ashley McIntyre of Kentucky heard about a man in dire need of a kidney on a local radio station, she decided to get tested to see if she was a match. She figured she was healthy, and this would be a great way to give back and change someone's life for the better. She had no idea that her kidney wouldn't be the only thing that was a perfect match for Danny Robinson.
Only about 1 percent of kidney donations come from strangers, so theirs was a unique story from the start. However, once Robinson's surgery went successfully and the two met, it was obvious what had brought them together. "It's crazy how it all worked. It was all planned out by God," 26-year-old McIntyre told the Courier-Journal about her now-fiancé Danny Robinson.
The two embarked on a whirlwind romance and were engaged on Christmas of 2014, less than one year after McIntyre heard the radio broadcast. A few days later, McIntyre and Robinson announced they were having a baby, too! Now they get to plan the rest of their lives together, happy and healthy.
Their unique love story shows exactly how compassion can save a life…and bring two people together forever. Hopefully this very happy ending will inspire others to give back whenever possible.
