This April, New York City's trendy Lower East Side became home to the first "Cat Café" in the United States… and in true NYC style, the line was around the block (or two!).
They're huge in Japan… and slowly popping up around the rest of the world. Cat cafés are all the rage in the feline-loving community. The idea is simple. When you go to a café, most people are looking to relax, and what is more relaxing then sipping your coffee and petting a kitty while you read or chat. The first US one popped up in NYC and is sponsored by Purina ONE. They offer specialty drinks like the "cataccino", and best of all, ALL the cats are available for adoption. This pop-up cafe is only open for a few days, but I have a feeling more will be popping up around the US shortly. Please SHARE if you would love a cat café in your neighborhood!
