You've heard stories before of twins going to remarkable distances to keep their lives in unison, but there's something special about the way Paula and Bridgette have lived their lives completely in unison.
Paula and Bridgette Powers are twin sisters who have dedicated the better part of their adult lives to helping injured and rehabilitated wildlife at a Queensland, Australia animal rescue center on the Sunshine Coast. Their passion has been helping animals for as long as they can remember.
"[The twins] have been taking care of injured seabirds for more than 16 years on the Sunshine Coast," writes Mario Hanousek, who shot the video below. "The rescue work gets harder and harder each year as more birds need help."
But what's most interesting about these twins is their commitment to each other. They dress alike, speak at the same time, and live their lives as closely together as possible. "[It's] very hard — you just feel completely empty and you don't feel right," they tell ABC Australia. "You feel very down, very distressing."
Mario captured a beautiful portrait of the twin sisters discussing their love of wildlife rescue and their unique bond, which has been the subject of a number of television specials. Learn more about these extraordinary sisters below.
