Only a few weeks ago, we shared the story of a precious baby orangutan named Budi who was fighting for his life. Even though Budi was finally rescued from his abusive owners in Borneo, his story completely broke my heart.
Budi's owners locked the baby in a cage and fed him only condensed milk, which caused a plethora of health problems, including improper bone development. Every time Budi would move a muscle, he would cry out in pain. He is finally safe and sound with veterinarians in the U.K., but because of his extensive injuries, Budi had a very long way to go.
Now, after less than three months of nonstop care, Budi is finally able to eat whole foods on his own and has even taken his first steps! When I saw Budi start to climb in the video below (around 1:13), my heart just sang! This little guy definitely made a 180-degree turnaround, and I can't wait to see him grow up to be healthy and strong.
Please SHARE Budi's incredible story to inspire others to help animals in need!
