Do you know what the amazing sea turtle's biggest predator is?
It's a sad, but real truth – we are the biggest threat to this species. Human beings are the main reason that an estimated ONE in 1-10,000 baby sea turtles will grow to reach adulthood, due to hunting or careless behavior. A majority of sea turtles don't even make it past their egg stage.
However, on a happier note, their are plenty of humans who know what this wonderful, majestic creature is worth that are doing everything they can to help stop their dwindling numbers. In this touching video, we see over 150 baby sea turtles, who were born at a marine life haven on Lankanyan Island, being released into the ocean for the first time. They've spent the last several weeks gestating and now the adorable hatchlings are ready to crawl their way to the ocean under the bright sun on this Malaysian beach.
Seeing the sweet babies enter their "real world" for the very first time is one of the sweetest things you will ever see.
