It's not everyday that you get to become a hero. What most people don't know is unlike the movies, heroes tend to be normal everyday people who make a big decision when they happen to be in the right place at the right time.
Some of our favorite heroes here at LittleThings are the ones that put it all on the line in order to save animals in trouble. From the men who saved a raccoon from a dumpster to the woman who rescued a hedgehog from her pool, we know that heroes are always amongst us.
When Chris Rishworth heard cries coming from the side of the road while on a bike ride on Magnetic Island, he never expected to see a baby wallaby in need of help. The joey, whose mother had died, was clearly too young to survive on its own, so Chris had to act quickly.
Following his instincts, Chris took the joey to safety, delivering him to a local rescue center, becoming a hero for this tiny baby wallaby.
Despite losing it's mother, now the joey will be cared for and released back into the wild once it is old enough to look after itself.
