Husband Throws Out His Wife And Newborn’s Stuff Because Baby Is Born With Dark Skin

A 24-year-old woman said that her husband threw out her stuff and destroyed her art studio after seeing that their baby was born with dark skin. The woman explained that her husband, who she referred to as Jim, is white, so when he saw that their baby had dark skin, he believed that his wife had cheated on him.

"He told everyone on both sides of the family what happened, made posts on social media and wanted a divorce," the woman explained on Reddit. "His family and a lot of our friend all called to say how upset they were at me and called me really nasty names." She added that her husband left after seeing what their baby looked like. The woman noted that paternity tests and ancestry tests later revealed the truth.

In her Reddit post, the woman explained that her husband would not speak to her after this. She had to stay with her parents because he threw her stuff out and locked her out of the house, also changing the locks so she couldn't get in. He also claimed to have gotten rid of everything they had purchased for their baby.

Eventually, a paternity test revealed that her husband, "Jim," was the father of the baby. She explained that one of Jim's cousins also did an ancestry test that revealed that there was African ancestry in their family. The woman said that after these results came out, Jim began to apologize for what he did, but the woman couldn't get over the way he acted before he saw the results of the paternity test, especially because some of the comments he had made were racist.

"Regardless of what our daughter looks like I don't want her to be around that," she wrote in her post. "What else will Jim and his family say or do the next time they get mad? How are they going to treat our daughter when she does something that upsets them?"

The woman wrote that she doesn't really want to give Jim another chance. Her sister recommended couples therapy, but she felt that it was already too late. She asked other Reddit users if she was in the wrong for not wanting to take Jim back. Many were supportive of her, and said that they would not be able to forgive Jim either.

"One of the reasons Jim wouldn't pick me up from the hospital was because I wouldn't admit to cheating or give him any details, because there weren't any, which made him angrier," the woman explained after adding more details to her original post.
