One morning, on the Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, CobySev found a shocking sight: A little kitten, soaking wet from the previous night's storm, with her head stuck in a bacon grease jar. The poor baby cat was a very sad sight.
CobySev wasted no time. He rushed her to his car and drove to the nearest animal hospital — nearly an hour away! After some gentle work, veterinarians were able to remove the jar from her head. Because her body temperature was so low, vets also had to warm her up. She was exhausted by the end of the visit.
But after taking a nice power nap, the little cat started to pep up. She even began to explore the car, sniffing below the seats and investigating the door panel.
Once home, CobySev and the brave kitten got to know one another. She was still shaken, and she reeked of bacon, but she began to grow more comfortable in her new surroundings.
She settled in nicely according to CobySev, who said she was very affectionate for a stray.
CobySev decided to name her Bacon Bit, a sweet tribute to the way he found his new friend.
After a few days, Bacon Bit was adapting well to her new domestic life.
Although it took her a while, Bacon Bit finally got in the habit of eating.
And once she did, she wolfed down quite a lot for such a tiny kitten!
But her new puppy friends, Lady and Tank, were a little reluctant to share CobySev's attention.
But because of his wife's allergies, CobySev's home was just a temporary stay for little Bacon Bit. She was put up for adoption to find a loving forever home.
