If we’ve learned anything here at LittleThings, it's that modern architects are upping their creativity game and have been designing dazzling homes out of the craziest things!
For instance, one woman built a house out of an old bank. She kept all the original chandeliers, security deposit boxes, and even uses a giant safe as a sauna.
She’s not alone. Plenty of other people are flipping old buses into homes-on-the-go, and even taking shipping containers and making houses for the homeless.
Designers are even renovating dilapidated historic landmarks, like this 14th century castle in England, which they've turned into a gorgeous summer rental home where guests can have all the modern conveniences within a medieval setting.
Yet I have never seen anyone build a house out of what Bali designer Elora Hardy, the founder of the Indonesian company Ibuku, has. She crafted an entire estate out of bamboo by hand! It’s quite a sight to see…
Hardy and her team built the house entirely by hand and, with a few exceptions, used only bamboo.

If you look at the house from above, you can see its tunnel-bridge entryway.

It almost feels like you’re entering a surreal, dream-like world when you enter the tunnel.

Though your first glimpse of the house is stunning, you can’t grasp how gorgeous it is until you can see the whole structure.

The house is called Sharma Springs.

It was designed as a jungle fantasy escape for the Sharma family.

This bamboo kitchen is au natural, and the materials are locally sourced from the jungle. Even the counter slabs are carved from boulders.

It feels like you’re living in the middle of a jungle paradise in this spacious room.

Each piece of furniture was custom designed by Ibuku.

This includes chairs, hammocks, tables, stairs, and storage spaces.

The biggest challenge the designers faced was treating the bamboo so it would repel the insects that live in the area.

Yet, most can deal with a few mosquitos if this is where they get to unwind.

Since she started her company in Bali, Hardy and her team have built over 40 new bamboo structures across the island.

Believe it or not, this entire space is the kids' playroom. It sure is a great place to let you imagination roam free.

In fact, the entire structure is enough to inspire anyone's creativity.
