Experts Say This Peculiar Tea Recipe Can Help Cure Insomnia

Sleep comprises roughly one third of the average human lifespan. Getting the right amount of shut-eye is critical to our energy and mood, which is why we feel so "out of it" when we aren't getting enough.

But what can we do if we're not getting enough quality sleep? Insomnia affects something like 60 million Americans, and chronic sleeplessness tends to be come a bigger issue as we age. Some experts recommend forgoing pajamas and snoozing in the nude, but others prescribe sleeping pills. And that's never great.

According to Dr. Oz and other experts who prefer to take a more holistic approach to health, bananas are basically a sleeping pill in fruit form. The secret to a perfect night of sleep, however, is not in the fruit itself – it's in the peel!

This is why the daytime host recommends his time-tested recipe for banana tea before bed. This does involve boiling a banana whole, which sounds nuts, but the result is fabulous.

Watch the video below to see exactly how it's done (you have to cut the banana in a certain way) and be sure to SHARE this simple home remedy with your friends.
