It happens to all of us: We forget where we put things, like our keys, the remote control, or our favorite piece of jewelry. But some things we lose temporarily are virtually irreplaceable. Other times, losing something specific can mean suffering the consequences down the line.
One of those things is your bank card. Misplacing it doesn't just mean going through the hectic process of replacing it, but also running the risk of getting robbed.
One woman learned to keep an eye on her belongings in the worst way when she left her bank card in the ATM. This wouldn't be as big a deal if she had finished her transaction, but she hadn't.
April McKinnon was stunned when she was buying groceries and the cashier told her that her card had been declined.
McKinnon knew that she had over $200 in the account, which she had been saving for her kids' Christmas gifts. But when she checked again, she saw that only $30 were available.
She suddenly realized that she had left her card in the ATM slot and thieves likely stole all her money.
Devastated, she called the bank. But while the problem is still being resolved, her community has stepped up to help her in a heartwarming way.
Many donations have been made to her and her family, and she's thankful for all of it! Now McKinnon is asking people who wish to donate their money to give it to a cause that can greatly benefit from their generosity.
