For 21 years, United States Warrant Officer Jason Basham has been a soldier and man of duty.
He has been deployed 11 times.
Imagine that — imagine leaving your family, friends, and home for an extended period of time, sometimes venturing into foreign lands and unknown dangers. It's a true testament to how valuable our men and women in uniform are.
So finally, after his eleventh deployment, Jason came home for what will be the last time. He is retiring and leaving active duty.
To commemorate the occasion, he decided to surprise two of his kids — Margaret and Brady Basham — at West Hardin Middle School in Hardin County, Kentucky. Their mom, along with the school, managed to sneak Jason in while the kids were both in class.
The video below, shot on April 15, shows Jason creeping around the halls with his wife.
Finally, he was let into Margaret's classroom.
The girl had her back turned the whole time, speaking with her teacher, when Jason rolled up behind her.
She felt his presence, turned, and let out a huge gasp before embracing him, her tears flowing freely in her dad's arms.
Next, walking into the gym for all to see, Jason surprised his son Brady, who quickly ran to his dad for a hug of his own.
Gotta love these reunions! Please SHARE this video on Facebook!
