Homeowner Is Sick Of Her Drab Bathroom Mirror, So She Spends $64 To Totally Transform It

If there's one room in my house that I just can't stand, it's without a doubt my bathroom. It's tiny, outdated, and the lighting doesn't do much for one's self-esteem. But with bills to pay and food to buy, a remodel just isn't in the cards right now…

That's how I felt before finding this amazing tutorial, anyway. Now, thanks to the brilliant work of Rhoda from Southern Hospitality, my bathroom is about to go from drab to dazzling.

But don't worry; this remodel isn't going to be a months-long overhaul. Sometimes the smallest changes have the biggest effect, like a quick haircut or a fresh coat of paint.

Tired of her bathroom's old builder-grade mirror, Rhoda decided it was time for a makeover. Knowing that custom-built mirror frames can be expensive, she decided to get creative.

For about $32, she stopped by Lowe's and purchased four pieces of fluted molding and four corner rosettes. The pre-primed, composite kind works best.

After painting all the pieces, she set them aside to dry.

While the frame pieces were drying, she began to prep her mirror. She unscrewed and removed the plastic mirror clips, then adhered her mirror to the wall with Liquid Nails. She let this sit for 24 hours.

When everything was dry and ready, she used a glue gun to carefully apply the molding and rosettes directly to the mirror. To ensure they were securely glued, she used some painter's tape to keep it all in place.

Now, after just a few pieces of molding and a day of light work, her bathroom is a stylish, tranquil oasis.
