When a pregnant mother posted a video of her belly onto the internet, she had no idea the comments would save her life.
The woman in the video can't hold back her giggles as she pushes a large round mass in and out of her belly button. She posted the video onto reddit and waited for other people to laugh as well at her pregnant belly. But quickly, a few sharp-eyed viewers quickly realized that this was no laughing matter at all.
One of the commenters instantly recognized it as a hernia, and quickly informed the pregnant woman of her condition. But the woman, who is a doctor, wasn't worried and told them that it was totally normal and nothing to get worked up about.
However, she ended up getting a second opinion from a fellow doctor, who gave the diagnosis: it was an umbilical hernia and could be potentially deadly. These types of hernias are caused when a portion of the woman's insides get pushed through a weak spot in the abdomen. Usually found in women who are overweight or have had several pregnancies.
It's amazing to think how lucky this woman was, not only for posting the video online, but having a kind internet user comment with concern. It seems that the internet has some pretty mean people on it sometime, but every once in a while you'll run into someone good! Just like the commentors on Little Things, this online user was a real angel!
Sometimes it's good to listen to others! Please SHARE this crazy story if you're happy this woman went to get a second opinion!
