Little Ben Baltz Gets Some Help From A Group Of Marines

When Ben Baltz was only 6 years old, his family found out that an aggressive cancer was attacking his leg. Though his family hated to do it, they soon realized that the only way for little Ben to beat back the horrible disease was for his leg to be amputated.

While little Ben had to get used to his new prosthetic leg, he eventually got the hang of things, and in no time he was back to running, jumping, and playing all kinds of sports. If anything, he's become even more active than most kids; whether it be rock climbing or competing in children's triathlons, this little boy is an inspiration to everyone!

But, while the now 11-year-old was participating in his most recent event, his prosthetic leg broke in half. The little boy felt as if he wasn't going to finish the race, and it seemed there wasn't much he could do about it.

Even though little Ben is an extraordinary boy, sometimes we all can use a little bit of help. And of all the people who you could ask for assistance, it turns out that Marine Pvt. First Class Matthew Morgan happened to see little Ben's broken leg.

Morgan did what any Marine is expected to do: he jumped into action. At first Ben told the Marine he didn't need help, that he didn't want "a free ride," but eventually the Marine talked the little boy into it, explaining that sometimes even the bravest need help from a friend. So he finally picked up the boy and ran him all the way to the finish line! No wonder that some of the best people on this planet are Marines!

What a beautiful story; this little boy is so brave and so driven, but when he needed a bit of help, you can always trust a Marine to be there to help you out if you ask for it!
