Sometimes it isn't obvious that, as women, we are capable beings — a point pertinently illustrated in this Nike ad — or even that we're beautiful outside and in, though these curvy models certainly know they are.
It's important to remember that women were only first legally allowed to work, vote, and enter certain colleges just a few decades ago.
That means many of our grandmothers were either very limited in what they could achieve or were downright pioneers in many fields!
Women who work the same jobs as men, who have the same titles as them, are often paid less. That means a male doctor and a female doctor with the same qualifications and that work the same hours are paid different salaries. Why?
Unfortunately, sometimes the reason we women are treated unfairly is because we allow it. Yep. Sometimes the burden is in our hands.
It's all a part of the growing pains of navigating uncharted waters. We're still relatively new in many of our fields, and that can be scary.
Sometimes that fear holds us back.
