Bikers are famously known for their tough looks, but here at LittleThings, they're also known for their generosity! Five thousand of these rugged-looking guys and gals rode to raise money for babies, and one biker gang rode to raise money for a new roof for a grandma — and now, one club is helping Denver's homeless fight the winter weather!
Just hearing about this warms our hearts: we're finally feeling the bitter cold, but what if we didn't have all the layers that protect us from the weather? The BikerDown Foundation offers support to help wounded riders, but the group decided to contribute to another cause: helping the homeless get through the winter weather.
Laurie Montoya and other bikers recently helped a homeless man get home for the holidays by buying him a bus ticket. But helping one man wasn't enough: she decided to go back to the Denver Rescue Mission to help many others facing the elements, this time with a truck full of boxes.
Bikers and volunteers alike donated food, supplies, and clothing to keep Denver's homeless warm in the face of more brutal weather to come, passing out everything from blankets to handwarmers to snacks. The men and women receiving the donations thanked Laurie and the bikers, one woman even offering them money for gas!
