I just love surprise homecomings. I can watch them for hours. There's something so heartwarming about watching a family welcome home a loved one from the military.
I must not be the only one who loves them either, because these videos have become so popular that TLC developed a whole show around the concept, fittingly called Surprise Homecoming. They even enlisted country singer and famed pop star dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, to help out. He has the lucky job of helping to surprise families whose loved ones were stationed overseas in the military.
In this clip, SSG. Johnathan Bentley has not been home since the birth of his son, Roman. Baby Roman was born while Bentley was deployed and as he puts it, he is "really excited about getting to see him and getting to hold him and just getting to connect with him."
While Bentley waits behind closed doors, wife Erica is none the wiser as she looks on. It's only when Cyrus announces that they've "got a straggler" and introduces Bentley that she finally realizes the last reunion is hers! At that moment I couldn't help but to reach for my tissue box!
Describing seeing his wife, Bentley said, "It was a special moment, and it was a memory we are going to be able to take with us forever."
