Blind Grandpa Finally Sees His Wife Of 45 Years. His Reaction? I Cried Like A Baby!!

Thanks to a bionic eye and the doctors at the Mayo Clinic, a 68-year-old Minnesota man was finally able to see his wife of 45 years for the first time in 10 years. The device was implanted in Allen Zderad, and it's called the "Second Sight Argus II" retinal prosthesis system.

The emotional moment was caught on video, as Allen talks himself through what he's seeing the moment it happens. When his loving wife, Carmen, walks past his line of vision, Allen perceives the motion. It leaves everyone in the room in a mess of tears.

For 20 years, Allen has suffered with a genetic degenerative eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa. His new implant represents hope for his entire family, as his 13-year-old grandson has also inherited the condition.

This is such incredible technology. Bravo to the scientists who worked their tails off to make this moment happen. Please SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook and give them a reason to smile today!
