The police force in Louisiana had to confront a rather strange case a few years ago, that dealt with a dead body and a wife who had no idea it was in the house.
It all started when William Robert "Bob" Lang Jr.'s wife called 911 to report the 76-year-old missing one December. She told authorities that she hadn't heard from her husband since around 3 p.m. the previous day and that it was unusual.
The visually impaired woman was told that police would come to her home to interview her and look into her husband's whereabouts. When the responding deputy arrived, he noticed that all the couple's cars were parked in front of the home. He saw broken glass near the front of the home and asked Mrs. Lang's permission to enter and look around.

"The responding deputy observed a broken window glass on the residence and requested permission to enter the home to look for Mr. Lang," the sheriff's office revealed, per the Daily Mail.

Upon entering, officers found Bob Lang in his bed, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is being performed, but Lang's death has already been ruled a homicide. It continues to remain unclear how his wife didn't hear the gunshots or the sound of breaking glass. Officials have not commented on how she failed to find her husband's body in his bed for 27 hours.
Detectives have spoken to family and friends of the couple. They've also scouted surveillance footage available in the area.
"Our investigators are working tirelessly in an effort to arrest the individual or individuals involved in the murder of Mr. Lang," the sheriff's office stated.
"We extend our sympathy to the Lang family."
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. They can contact the sheriff's office's criminal investigations division at (318) 357-7830.
